The Health Effects Institute has released the latest version of the State of Global Air Report with data on air pollution for 195 countries around the world. Results indicate that South Asian countries- India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Nepal- are experiencing significant health impacts due to exposure to air pollution. In 2017, more than 1.5 million deaths were associated with air pollution. 1.2 million of these deaths were in India!

The report, for the first time, presents data on the impact of air pollution on diabetes and indicates that India has the largest number of diabetes deaths due to exposure to air pollution. Read more here.
